Caruso: Deserto in Terra from Dom Sebastien, Roi de Portugal by Donizetti. Recorded January 10, 1908 in New York. Matrix #C-5008-2. Caruso recorded two takes of this piece in this session. The first take was issued as Victor 88106. This, the second, was held back and not released until 1948 on RCA 15-1037. Note that it is almost a full minute shorter than the first take.
